Launched in September 2024, the Streetcare service complements the Emergency Shelter and Reception Service (SALU) by providing local medical monitoring. Comprising a team of healthcare professionals and a dedicated social worker for supporting homeless individuals, the service aims to provide basic healthcare to those excluded from the healthcare system and guide them towards existing care facilities.
Made up of three nurses and a social worker, the Streetcare team proactively intervenes through day and night outreach work, as well as paramedical drop-in sessions. These sessions take place in strategic locations such as the Pass-By service (needle exchange facility), the Nightshelter, and the Wanteraktioun, ensuring essential access to healthcare for the most vulnerable individuals. The social worker supports the healthcare team with social procedures and works closely within a network of other social workers.

Streetcare extends beyond curative care: the team also organises prevention workshops on essential topics such as hygiene, mental health, safer use, and cardiovascular disease prevention.
