A local player

The Luxembourg Red Cross combines experience with innovation in its daily work. We have been helping residents of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for more than a hundred years. And since then, we have always evolved with the country and its people as well as the rest of the world. We rely on our highly specialised staff, on our volunteers – and on donations and other support from the general population.

People helping people

The importance of volunteer work in particular should not be underestimated. Around 3,500 volunteers give part of their time to the Red Cross and, in addition to providing support to our services in everyday life, they also take care of organising recreational and cultural events, the profits of which are then donated to the Red Cross.

At national level, our volunteers are divided into 39 local chapters. They are located in:

Bascharage, Bertrange, Bettembourg, Betzdorf, Bissen, Boevange/Attert, Clemency, Colmar/Berg, Colpach Schlassfest, Diekirch, Differdange, Dippach, Dudelange, Echternach, Esch/Alzette, Ettelbruck, Grevenmacher, Hesperange, Junglinster, Kayl, Kehlen, Kopstal-Bridel, Larochette, Luxembourg-Ville, Mamer, Mersch, Mertzig, Mondercange, Perlé, Pétange, Remich-Schengen, Rumelange, la Commune de Sanem, Schifflange, Steinfort, Strassen, Tétange, Walferdange, Wiltz

This multifaceted commitment of people, in the field, for the benefit of others, enables us to help those who need our help, in Luxembourg itself and all over the world. Do you also want to help other people? Then please contact us by e-mail or by phone: benevolat@croix-rouge.lu or 27 55 – 2032.

There are many ways to help others with the Red Cross. Specifically, we are committed to:

  • supporting a life in which dignity plays the main role, and therefore supporting people with fragile health
  • fostering a world in which young people have their place, and therefore supporting children, young people and families in all areas
  • contributing to a society that excludes no-one, and therefore helping people in precarious situations reintegrate into society
  • providing first-class healthcare that is open to all, therefore helping to maintain or further expand the range of existing services
  • creating a world in which solidarity knows no borders, and therefore standing by the victims of disasters around the world

The people we help also benefit from the strength of an active and networked global player, and its unwavering values.
