Vintage Mo(o)d

Second hand with a touch of solidarity

Vintage Mo(o)d is a project launched in 2016 by the Luxembourg Red Cross to help the most disadvantaged. The clothes on sale in this solidarity shop are second-hand donations. Vintage Mo(o)d boutique is open to all. It gives a new life to clothing and other items, while offering everyone the possibility to dress or treat themselves at low prices. Thanks to the money raised, the Red Cross can buy clothes that are best suited to the needs of the poor and which are not always donated by benefactors.

A virtuous circle

When customers make a purchase in the Vintage Mo(o)d shop, they are treating themselves, and at the same time contribute to improving the quality of the service offered by the Red Cross Vestiaires to its beneficiaries.

The profits generated by Vintage Mo(o)d allow for the purchase of items necessary for the missions of the Red Cross Vestiaires Service not provided through donations.

Adapting donations to needs

While donors offer many clothes for the poorest, some are donated in large quantities (such as women’s and children’s clothing as well as large men’s clothing), while the Red Cross Vestiaires service often lacks clothing for men with a slimmer physique. However, these often young and older men represent the majority of the beneficiaries of the Vestiaires. The sale of the surplus therefore makes it possible to buy them clothing and meet their needs.
