Can you tell us about your situation before joining the TUC programme?
Before joining the TUC programme, I already had professional experience as a care assistant, as well as several years working as a self-employed professional in the automotive sector.
After that period, I wanted to give a new direction to my career and move into the socio-educational field, which better matches my values and my desire to help others.
Concretely, what did your experience as a TUC bring you?
My experience as a TUC was a key step in my journey and a concrete first move towards my new professional project.
It allowed me to reorient myself towards the socio-educational field, acquire new skills working with young people, learn how to organise activities, and work as part of a team. Above all, it helped me regain confidence and relaunch myself in a field that truly suits me.
How was the support of the TACT service decisive in helping you obtain stable employment?
The support from the TACT service was crucial in my journey. They recognised my skills and guided me towards the socio-educational field, while giving me the means to integrate and grow.
Thanks to their support, I was able to secure a stable permanent position at the Luxembourg Red Cross.
What do you enjoy about your work at the Junglinster Youth Centre?
What I enjoy most is the contact with young people and the opportunity to contribute positively to their daily lives.
I like organising activities, especially cooking sessions or group projects, and seeing young people get involved and develop.
Every day is different, which makes the job motivating. I also really appreciate teamwork and the dynamic atmosphere within the Youth Centre.
I would also like to highlight the support and collaboration with my colleagues, which make this experience even more enriching on a daily basis. I would also like to thank the TACT service team for their support, as well as the Head of Youth Centres at the Luxembourg Red Cross for giving me the opportunity to join the team and continue in this field.
