A child’s first experience at a summer camp: lots of children and young people together, an unfamiliar environment, plenty of new stimuli, a different pace… Not all participants adapt immediately to such a situation, and not everyone is necessarily able to manage their emotions at such times. As a camp leader, how can I manage these situations, meet the participants’ needs and restore calm in stressful moments? What is a conflict, and what is bullying? Why do rules exist, and why is it important to stick to one’s own boundaries? These questions — and many others — will be addressed on 13 and 14 June during the training course ‘Supporting children and young people at summer camp’, with practical role-plays to practise directly.
