The Maison de la Croix-Rouge will open its doors in Howald in 2027

01 October 2026

A press conference held on 1 October 2026 provided an opportunity to clarify the opening schedule for the Maison de la Croix-Rouge. From summer 2027, the first teams will move into the new headquarters of the Luxembourg Red Cross, which will bring together numerous services and nearly 550 employees. This consolidation will foster cooperation between teams, create synergies and help improve support for beneficiaries.

Much more than a building, the Maison de la Croix-Rouge is intended to be a place of solidarity, sharing and innovation, serving beneficiaries, blood donors, learners and employees. By progressively bringing together numerous activities at a single site from summer 2027, in a modern, functional environment designed to encourage interaction, the Luxembourg Red Cross will strengthen its ability to respond to the needs of its various audiences more efficiently and with greater proximity. More visible and accessible, the Maison de la Croix-Rouge will also help enhance the institution’s profile in support of its mission: Mënschen hëllefen (Helping people).

The Maison de la Croix-Rouge will notably house:

  • A training centre open to employees and the general public;
  • A new Blood Transfusion Centre designed to provide an enhanced experience for blood donors;
  • Consultation spaces for beneficiaries, ensuring confidentiality, attentive listening and respect;
  • The institution’s coordination and support functions.

WELL Gold and BREEAM Excellent certified, the Maison de la Croix-Rouge has been designed with the well-being of its occupants, accessibility and sustainability at the heart of its priorities.
