In July, the Luxembourg Red Cross will organise, together with SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, a movie streaming at the online festival « Cinéma du Sud ». Our teams are happy to promote « Midnight Traveler », a movie by the Afghan film director Hassan Fazili. The screening will take place on 24th July 2020, at 7 p.m. At the end of the movie, the public will be invited to discuss with the producer, Emelie Mahdavian.
When the film director Hassan Fazili opened a coffeshop that offers cultural activities in Afghanistan, the Taliban put a price on his head. Forced to flee the country with his wife and their two daughters, Hassan films his family over three years, sharing their experiences of fear, hope, and danger.
For the 11th edition of the festival, movies can be viewed online for the first time. With the motto « Act now ! Global verstoen, lokal agéieren », its organisers invite the audience to take a critical look at globalisation and its consequences, including migration.
