“Make It Short”: Andy Bausch celebrates 40 years of cinema… and a message of prevention

31 October 2025

Starting November 19, cinemas across Luxembourg will celebrate Andy Bausch’s 40-year career with “Make It Short”, a 92-minute programme featuring six short films — from his very first one, shot in 1984, to The Butcher, premiering this year. Blending humour, satire, and a rock’n’roll spirit, this retrospective pays tribute to the filmmaker’s offbeat world, populated by devils, cowboys, gangsters, and other legendary figures.

Among these films, Freddie (2016) holds a special place. Created in collaboration with HIV Berodung, as part of a prevention campaign led by the Ministry of Health, this short film combines music and awareness-raising: rock legend Freddie is visited by the ghostly apparition of his double, in a poetic reflection on HIV prevention and testing

Practical information

Condoms and ribbons provided by HIV Berodung will be made available during the screenings.

During the evening of November 13, the prevention team will be present with an information stand and will be available to answer your questions.
