Kannerpräis: 3rd place for our day nursery Huesenascht in Stadtbredimus

19 April 2024

Our day nursery Huesenascht in Stadtbredimus has won 3rd place in the National Youth Service (SNJ) “Kannerpräis” contest! Under the slogan “My identity”, the facility organises exciting monthly activities – from singing, games and storytelling to dancing and culinary delights – in collaboration with parents and the cook.

The context: children’s mother tongue is an important part of their identity. That’s why our structure Huesenascht wants to promote each child’s language through this cultural project. The integration of all children is one of the objectives of the Red Cross 2030 strategy.

Kannerpräis: what is it exactly?

The aim of the “Kannerpräis” is to promote projects involving children from educational and care institutions. The projects must come from the field of non-formal education and the children must be actively involved. More than 100 projects were entered this year. A children’s jury made up of over 90 children recently selected the winners.

The awards ceremony will take place on 4 May during Children’s Week at Abbey Neimënster.
