Charity Kids Run: Learning first aid skills and running for a good cause

03 November 2026

The Charity Kids Run combines sport with first aid awareness for children. Since its launch, Baloise has supported this initiative, which helps fund inclusive holiday camps organised by the Luxembourg Red Cross Youth

A first edition with tangible results

In 2026, the Charity Kids Run brought together more than 1,000 runners and mobilised volunteers and partners around a common goal. The first figures demonstrate the impact of this initiative:

  • 484 children learned basic first aid skills, thanks to volunteers from local branches and first aid volunteers.
  • 28 hours of awareness-raising activities delivered by Luxembourg Red Cross first aid volunteers.
  • 30 volunteers mobilised for awareness-raising activities, event organisation and ambulance support.
  • €30,385 raised to fund inclusive holiday camps organised by the Luxembourg Red Cross Youth.

Baloise: a committed partner since the launch

Why did Baloise choose to support the Charity Kids Run? What values does the company share with this initiative, and what are its main takeaways from this first edition?

We asked three questions to Elénore Bertoncini, Head of Comms, Marketing and Customer Experience, and Chrystène Paissereau, Communications Officer at Baloise, to explore the motivations behind this partnership, the results achieved and the role businesses can play in supporting initiatives for children and young people.

1.What motivated Baloise to support the Charity Kids Run, and how does this event reflect your values?

What particularly appealed to us about the Charity Kids Run is the way it brings together two essential dimensions: learning and taking action. Children discover skills that could one day save a life, while also getting involved in supporting Luxembourg Red Cross projects for children and young people.

This initiative reflects three values that guide us in our daily work: Closeness, Trust and Drive. It brings people together, strengthens young people’s confidence in their own abilities and encourages them to turn their participation into meaningful action.

2.This edition raised more than €30,000, reached nearly 500 children with first aid awareness activities and brought together over 1,000 runners. What do these results mean to you?

These results are a wonderful demonstration of what can be achieved when people work together. Behind every euro raised and every kilometre run, there is a child who got involved, a family who supported the initiative or a volunteer who generously gave their time.

Businesses have an important role to play in supporting projects like this: they can provide financial support, raise awareness of these initiatives and encourage their employees to get involved.

3.What will you remember most about this first Charity Kids Run?

Above all, we will remember the children’s smiles and their incredible energy. They were running to take on a sporting challenge, but also to help others. Seeing so many children learn, push their limits and get involved for the benefit of others is a real source of optimism for the future.

This first edition shows that it is possible to raise young people’s awareness of important issues in a positive, fun and inclusive way.
