A friendly and supportive Bazar

11 November 2022

The Red Cross Bazar will be held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November at the Glacis. Organised by the volunteers of the local section of Luxembourg-City, it will allow all visitors to enjoy a festive weekend of solidarity, with unusual gifts, delicacies to eat there or to take away, without forgetting the traditional meeting with the Kleeschen.

The Bazar will open its doors at 10am on both Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th and close at 6pm. The highlights of Saturday will be celebrating the 76th Red Cross Bazaar birthday with cake at 4pm, followed by a conference on the theme of gender-based violence. On Sunday, young and not-so-young alike will be able to meet the Kleeschen between 3pm and 5pm.

Throughout the weekend, food lovers will be able to enjoy the Food Village, which will offer drinks, seafood, pastries, waffles, salmon, and other gastronomic specialities from the Mediterranean and elsewhere.

“Brocante”, second-hand-, design- and decoration-products

For those of you looking for a good deal, the ,usual suspects’ will be setting up stands… and some new additions. Whether you are looking for second-hand products (clothes, toys, and various other bits and bobs), whether you’re hoping to bargain-hunt at the Coup de Cœur flea market or simply to discover home decorations or jewellery, you’ll be able to ease into your holiday shopping for the end of year celebrations without having to brave the December rush, for adults as well as for the youngest. A tombola for children will also be organised on site, not forgetting the exhibition and sale of works by various artists.

Conference “fighting against gender-based violence”

The theme of the conference on 19 November at 4.30 p.m. will be “fighting against gender-based violence”. Panellists will include Marc Bichler (Luxembourg’s Ambassador to the United Nations), Ali Bandiaré (President of the Niger Red Cross), Prosper Zombre (Head of Mission in Niger of the Luxembourg Red Cross), Elisabeth Gueye (Gender and Human Rights Expert at LuxDev) and Nadine Conrardy (Director of the Social Action and Health Department of the Luxembourg Red Cross).

The money raised during the Bazaar will be used for the benefit of the actions of the Luxembourg Red Cross in favour of young people, in Luxembourg and worldwide.
