Red Cross Bazar 2023

Don’t miss the 77th edition of the Red Cross Bazar, which will take place on November 18th and 19th under the Glacis tent on the Limpertsberg!

You’ll discover a wide range of handicrafts, brocante and design items, as well as second-hand clothing and take-away delicacies. The food village will also offer you the chance to eat in a convivial atmosphere. Youngsters will have the chance to meet Kleeschen on November 19th at 11am and 3pm.

The proceeds from the event will go to support initiatives for young people and children in need, in Luxembourg and around the world. Several Red Cross professional teams and volunteers will be present at the Bazar so that visitors can discover their activities in these fields.

The Red Cross Bazar is organized by the local section of Luxembourg City under the High Patronage of H.R.H. the Grand Duchess, President of the Luxembourg Red Cross.

“Multicultural horizons: a challenge and an opportunity for international aid”

To discuss how an organization like the Red Cross integrates the intercultural dimension into its international projects, the Luxembourg Red Cross has brought together a panel of experts.

  • Rémi Fabbri, Director of Humanitarian Aid at the Luxembourg Red Cross
  • Thierry Janssen, medical doctor, founder of Ecole de la Posture Juste,
  • Gloria Lombo K. Polo, General Secretary of the Red Cross DRC,
  • Abdel Nefnaf, graduate educator, group leader at the “Foyer Jacoby” living group at the CANE service,
  • Laura Zuccoli, President of ASTI for 12 years.

The discussion will be moderated by Ophélie de Soto, psychologist at the Luxembourg Red Cross.

The free conference will be held on November 18 at 4:30 p.m. in French.

HELPING YOUTH IN DISTRESS

Throughout the weekend, visitors of the Bazar will be able to meet professional and volunteer teams from the Luxembourg Red Cross who offer a personalized and relevant response for each situation: psychological or educational support, organization of vacations, work with people experiencing social or family breakdown. The Humanitarian Aid will be presenting the challenges faced by the Red Cross abroad, particularly with regard to children and young people, through an escape game and a conference.

Support for young people and families is not limited to the national territory. The International Aid teams of the Luxembourg Red Cross aim to provide the greatest possible relief to families directly affected by the consequences of a natural disaster, conflict or pandemic.

THE LUXEMBOURG CITY SECTION

More than 600 volunteers make up the local chapter in Luxembourg City. It is thanks to their efforts that a large number of initiatives are organized, including the Red Cross Bazar and Ball.

The Luxembourg City branch is one of 32 local branches of the Luxembourg Red Cross throughout the country. They are the platform for action for some 1,500 volunteers, and are the living expression of the Red Cross’s closeness to the country and its people, which has been the case for over a century.

In April, all local sections get actively involved in the annual “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign.
