red cross bazar

Join us at the 76th edition of the Red Cross Bazaar, on 19 and 20 November under the Glacis tent at Limpertsberg.

More than a hundred volunteers spread over several stands offering an array of handicrafts, design and vintage items, delicacies, and second-hand clothes at attractive prices, not forgetting the food village and the presence of the Kleeschen on 20 November from 3pm.

The money raised will support actions in favour of young people, both in Luxembourg and worldwide. Red Cross services, active in these fields, will be present throughout the weekend to allow everyone to discover them.

The Red Cross Bazaar is organised by the local section of Luxembourg City and under the High Patronage of H.R.H. the Grand Duchess, President of the Luxembourg Red Cross.

In order to raise awareness on this issue, the Luxembourg Red Cross has decided to lead the debate by bringing together a panel of experts:

  • Marc Bichler, Ambassador of Luxembourg to the United Nations;
  • Ali Bandiaré, President of the Nigerian Red Cross;
  • Prosper Zombre, head of mission of the Luxembourg Red Cross in Niger;
  • Elisabeth Gueye, gender and human rights expert at LuxDev;
  • Nadine Conrardy, director of the Social Action and Health Department of the Luxembourg Red Cross.

The discussion will be facilitated by Rémi Fabbri, director of the Humanitarian Aid of the Luxembourg Red Cross.

This free conference will be held on 19 November at 4.30pm in French.

THE CAUSES WE SUPPORT

Visitors will be able to meet several teams and young people of the Luxembourg Red Cross. All of them, in their respective fields, help and support young people in overcoming the difficulties they face. Through several animations and exhibitions, it will be possible to understand the activities proposed and their method of intervention. Psychological or academic support, planning holidays, working with those cut off from society or their families… the needs are numerous, as are the proposed answers. L’Aide Internationale will present the challenges that the Red Cross responds to abroad, particularly in favour of young people and children, through the example of an escape game and conferences.

THE LUXEMBOURG CITY SECTION

The Luxembourg City section has a team of over 500 volunteers who organise and coordinate a large number of initiatives including the Red Cross Bazaar and Ball.

The Luxembourg City branch is one of 39 local branches of the Luxembourg Red Cross spread throughout the country. They form a platform for action for about 3,500 volunteers and are a concrete expression of how the Red Cross works closely with the country and its inhabitants, which has been the case for more than a hundred years.

All local branches actively participate in the annual fundraising campaign “Month of Giving” in April.
