Semi-stationary therapy – Kannerhaus Jean

Semi-stationary therapy – Kannerhaus Jean

The day-time psychotherapeutic support is open to children aged between 6 and 12 years who show mental health problems exceeding the means of an ambulant therapeutic intervention.

The children come to the Centre thérapeutique Kannerhaus Jean 4 days per week and visit their regular schools the fifth day. The parents are part of the changing process. The children’s teachers are coached as well.

The psychotherapeutic and educational offer is based on different aspects:

-          The therapeutic use of everyday life

-          The therapeutic work in a group (social skills, active learning)

-          School classes

-          Individual therapeutic settings using various media (animals, art, play, puppets,…)

-          Counselling for parents, family therapy

-          School coaching for the children’s teachers, support for the parents for school matters

If, during the observation time in the ambulant psychotherapeutic support, the need for a more intense kind of support becomes evident, the plan for the semi-stationary will be the following:

-          Stage 1: 4 full days per week over a 3 months period (with possibility of renewal)

-          Stage 2: 2 half-days per week over a 3 months period (with possibility of renewal)

-          Stage 3: 1 half-day per week over a 3 months period (with possibility of renewal)

-          Return to the ambulant therapy of the Centre Thérapeutique Kannerhaus Jean
