Who are we?
The Luxembourg Red Cross’ International Section is made up of English-speaking volunteers who offer their time to contribute to a great cause whilst making new friends in a like-minded and international community. The section was founded in 2009 as part of an internal Red Cross initiative to involve Luxembourg’s multi-ethnic, multilingual and multicultural society in the work of the Red Cross. The section truly represents Luxembourg’s International community with members from more than 30 different nationalities all volunteering together.
What do we do?
The section has been involved in numerous events over the past few years. These include the annual Afterwork Swimming Corporate Challenge (see photo below), during which employees from various companies compete against each other in swimming competitions organised by our volunteers. We also help at stands during sports events, participate in information stands, international festivals, and the annual Red Cross Bazaar. We have strong links with the Red Cross and react to the changing needs in Luxembourg. Other projects we are involved in include the translation of the Red Cross website and the writing of articles for our blog and newsletter. For more information on our future projects and events please get in touch.
Interested in volunteering?
Join our team of dynamic volunteers and become part of the Red Cross International Section! However much time you can give, we are always looking for volunteers to help out at events throughout the year as well as to create and manage new events. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you into our team.
