Hospitals: Blood Monitoring 03.10.2011

Each incident or accident during a transfusion of a blood product must be reported to the Ministry of Health. Please download the Notification Form from the website of the Ministry of Health.

The file is addressed by the Ministry of Health and requires the Blood Transfusion Centre to investigate the corresponding blood product. A concise report is written by the Blood Transfusion Centre and sent to the Ministry of Health. Meanwhile, a letter of response is sent to the transfusion doctor who reported the transfusion reaction or the undesirable effect.

In case of questions concerning blood monitoring, please contact the director of the Blood Transfusion Centre or the biological pharmacist in charge of the Quality Control Department at 27 55-4000 or via e-mail transfusion.direction@croix-rouge.lu
