The Luxembourg Red Cross, in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, intervenes in crisis regions due to conflict and natural disasters throughout the world. How is your donation used?
"Shelter is an essential component of humanitarian aid. In addition to providing protection from the climate, it plays an important role in health, and provides vulnerable households with family privacy and dignity. Moreover, such shelters form an essential element in protecting women and children.” Marc Crochet, Secretary General of the Luxembourg Red Cross.
In its international humanitarian work, the Luxembourg Red Cross is mainly focusing on West Africa. With its delegations in Cameroon, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and in the Great Lakes region, Luxembourg Red Cross supports displaced populations. Besides, the Luxembourg Red Cross is also present in other countries such as Nepal where it is continuing its rebuilding programme of community infrastructures, schools for example, destroyed by the 2015 earthquakes.
